This experience gave the women a much-deserved retreat (Pam and Jan are caregivers to a number of children in their extended family). Bobby's Wish:
Pinehurst #2
July 2015

Very few people love golf as much as Bobby and so it makes perfect sense that his wish was to play Pinehurst #2 with some of his best friends.  Meanwhile, his wife Louise enjoyed a day at the award winning spa and then was joined by Bobby for a delicious dinner at the resort.

Bobby was diagnosed with a metastatic brain tumor that was difficult for physicians to find. Getting to spend a day at one of the most prestigious golf courses in the country was truly a dream come true for him.

In his own words- A Note from Bobby

What a fantastic day July 2nd was for both myself and Louise!  I was very humbled by the Pinehurst No. 2 course, but even more humbled by the generosity of the Fill Your Bucket List Foundation, all the folks at Pinehurst and the Carolina Hotel, and Dr. Mollin.

Weather was perfect for playing golf with my buddies, Jaye Thomas of Raleigh and  Mike Daniels of Wake Forest.  Needless to say, the course was wonderful and difficult, as a championship course should be.  I did manage to break 100 with a score of 99!  Upon completion on Hole #18, a Pinehurst representative met us and presented me with a whole bag of Pinehurst No.2 memorabilia, which I will always cherish.

While I was playing golf, Louise was relaxing and enjoying her facial at the Spa.  And then we got to relax in our very nice hotel room  All the wonderful treatment did not stop there!  Right before entering the Main Dining Room for dinner, Jessica and Kristen surprised us with a beautiful bouquet of flowers for Louise and more souvenirs for me!

Our dinner was delicious, the service was impeccable, not to mention the atmosphere and the music.  After dinner we were too full for dessert, but a member of the staff brought out a chocolate decorated truffle platter with Jimmy V’s quote “Never Give Up” written in chocolate.  It was quite a moving moment!

Thank you and everyone involved for making a dream come true and for providing a short respite for both of us from the stress of the cancer I deal with daily.  Your kindness and generosity will always be remembered.

Sincerely,

Bobby Hill

James' Wish:

James, his wife and their two teenage sons enjoyed a family trip to Disney World. James has stomach cancer and feels like this trip is a huge blessing for their family! The boys ages 20 and 14 had never flown before, and all 4 of them are so grateful for the time they had together.  James was nominated by a close friend and at the same time by his medical team at Duke, so without a doubt, he was meant to be a wish recipient!!
